Through the use of time-lapse photography and claymation techniques, as well as actual decaying objects, the installation The Time Machine brings attention not only to the representation of decay, but also the construction of film itself as animation of the single frame. Film’s fragile semblance of life is a series of single frame photographs which maintains the memory of death as being dead.
